It's a WHAT!!

Morning blogging buddies.

Well would you believe it, it's a Christmas Card, and you know how much I lurvv making those...NOT!

Well past time to make a start I guess, yes I know I said I'd make the odd one or two throughout the year, it was a great idea, thanks to those of you that suggested it, if only I could have carried it through!!

Unfortunately it's bad enough finding the motivation to make them when it's just around the corner, so to conjure some up when it's months away is near on impossible, but I did try, well perhaps try's a bit strong, lets just say, it crossed my mind....honest.

Well enough of my waffle, so here is my first effort, brace yourself for yet more to come, hubby says I should just nip to M&S and buy a pack and not put myself through the torture of making the damn things, huh, men, he's usually very understanding about my 'need' to craft, but BUY SOME, has the man completely last the plot!!!!

As usual, recipe below, hope you like it and thanks for dropping by.

Jacee this is just gorgeous, truly festive with a really fab layout! I feel the same as you about making Christmas cards, yet I love Christmas, don't quite know what it is!! I've tried making the odd one or two earlier this year so I'm not doing the 'last minute rush' thing and it does help so hopefully you'll find it helps too! xx

Hi Jacee, don't you feel so much better now that you have made a start on them? No? Oh dear, I'm not sure why you dislike creating Christmas cards so much because you do such a fabulous job on them. Just pretend you are making a birthday card and swap the image for a festive one - see how that goes :)
This is a gorgeous start to your collection, I love Barkley and Friends and their cute images and as always you have created the whole package of beautifully matching insert and envelope. I wish you great endurance for the marathon ahead that is your Christmas card bundle, I have yet to make my special family ones but I have made a small start on the flat ones to post. Take care and enjoy your Sunday.

I'm not sure why you don't like making Christmas cards, but we are all different, personally I love to make them. But buying cards has become a big no no for me as well, it's better to give a personal handmade card than a store bought one, and with the money invested in this hobby I can't find any excuse for buying one ever again, lol. Sweet card, can't tell from the result that you don't like to make Christmas ones:)

You may not enjoy making them Jacee, but you have created an absolute stunner of a christmas card. Love the super image, festive papers and details xx

Hi Jacee, yes I'm back from Australia and it won't be long before I'm in England. Love your sweet Christmas card stunning colours and I love your charm. I make a few special Christmas cards for family and my hubby's PA. But honestly I have to agree with your hubby and buy the run of the mill cards my reason for that is a lot of people just don't appreciate that love and work and time that's been put into them. A friend of mine that doesn't craft who can't even sew a button on throw all her cards away and she would hate a mess or she calls it hording. My hubby's PA has kept every card I've given her and even framed some for art work on her bedroom wall. My sisters keep all theirs as well. Handmade cards are special for birthdays but for Christmas I have to think twice to who's getting them otherwise they get a bought card. Take care and have a great week.

Hello Jacee, Thank you for your lovely comment. I can't believe my Christmas cactus and the number of flowers. I can only put it down to neglect, forgetting to water it and keeping it cool.

Good luck with your plants.

Well you've got one up on me, Jacee! I haven't made a single Christmas card for myself - we have been doing them at workshop and that's a chore in itself! Mine usually end up being very CAS as I leave it to the last minute (normally a day before the last post!)and I will admit to buying some(ssh!) for handing out to neighbours! I swear every year that I will be more organised and start in September (any earlier would be insane!) but it seems my crafty motivation has deserted me just when I need it most!
Love your pretty Christmas card with it's bright, cheery papers and sweet image...I tell you what, whilst you're on a roll how about making a couple more for my stash?!....That's a no then?! Hugs, Lisa x

Fabulous card and envelope! Go to the shops! Terrible suggestion, naughty hubby LOL! Next time you make a Christmas card - make two at the same time, your stash will soon build up - hmmmm maybe I should try that too LOL!

Well, you are at least one ahead on your stash! And it's lovely in the traditional colors with the really cute layout. I like the green shade that complements the holly in your red dp, and the delightful critters dropping their letters to Santa in the post box. Delicious little snowman charm too. Well done!!!
